About Tim Poulsen
I’ve been “working the web” for more years than I care to admit. I’ve worked in all aspects of computing, including network and sys admin, training, writing, web dev, and mobile app dev. My most recent employment has been as the Training and Certification Lead and “Master Trainer” for Appcelerator, publisher of the Titanium cross-platform development framework.
I am happily married with three beautiful children who keep me grounded in what really matters in life. I’m an Assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 273. In my free time, I’m restoring our 1890s-vintage Victorian home. I enjoy woodworking, amateur astronomy, and birdwatching. And I love combining my “geeky” skills with my hobbies: like setting up a live web cam to watch the bluebirds nest in one of our nest boxes; or writing a program to send myself twitter updates hourly with our weather station’s stats.
I earned the rank of black belt in Shorin Ryu karate in 2008 and continue to train and occasionally teach at Kime Karate in Fairport.
